Park National Bank Hosts Norwood Middle School Students

April 5, 2015

Eighth Graders attend Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Park National Bank hosted Norwood Middle School students for Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day. Nine students spent their day with Park associates at their new office in the Rookwood Exchange. Students interviewed associates and learned about the different departments of the bank, the skills needed in today’s workplace, and how to make responsible decisions with their money. This is Park National’s fourth year hosting Job Shadow students through Junior Achievement.

Park National Bank is passionate about teaching financial literacy to students and adults. In 2015 Park associates spent 312 hours teaching in 39 classrooms at 15 different schools through Junior Achievement! Park was also a recipient of Junior Achievement’s MVP Award for their involvement. Besides JA, Park Bankers have taught kids during “Teach Children to Save” week, provided credit training to adults, and provided tax assistance through the United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

Junior Achievement serves more than 42,000 students in the Greater Cincinnati area with financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness programs. JA Job Shadow Day offers students a unique opportunity: a visit to a professional work environment and insights into how to find and keep a fulfilling career.

Rookwood Branch Manager, Chilton Jones, is proud of the impact the associates had on the students. “I am fortunate to belong to an organization that is dedicated to serving our community,” Jones said. “Having the freedom to take time out of my work day to share with students, see things from their perspective, and build into their lives – I feel like I’m making a difference.”

Junior Achievement’s Job Shadow program continues through the spring. Park National will host Amelia High School students at its Eastgate location on Monday, April 11.
